Carol Bouwer

Carol is a Soweto girl who is proud of her origins. She always wanted to be on television and her screen career started very early on. Carol was a presenter on one of our commercial channels, but her first big break came with the opportunity to present a youth dating show, Buzz, a favorite amongst teenagers around the country Soon Carol became a darling of the nation and her next step was to co-present a now well known women’s talk show, Motswako. Carol needed just a year to realize that her passion lies in producing and not only in presenting. She took over the production of Motswako, and turned it into an iconic show watched by millions of South African women every Monday night.

Carol’s production company also produced numerous successful television series and documentaries (Nowhere Land, Hooked). As a TV anchor and presenter, Carol has interviewed statesmen, celebrities, business people and the like. She’s known for her sense of style, but is also renowned as an interviewer who goes straight to the point and leaves no stones unturned – a great attribute for our new show, No Reservations. Above all, however, Carol is a mother and – as she puts it – all her efforts in life are dedicated to her son. Maybe she’ll give us some information on motherhood in the next few editions of No Reservations.
